As an Inbound Transport Coordinator, you are responsible for the efficient and customer-focused coordination of incoming container freight to our warehouse facility in Magdeburg (DE). You ensure that inbound container shipments are planned and executed smoothly, in close cooperation with external transport partners. You maintain regular contact with the client, carriers, and internal stakeholders to secure timely deliveries and resolve any issues quickly. You are able to anticipate potential disruptions, make well-informed decisions, and maintain a strong balance between cost, service level, and operational efficiency. With your experience and solution-oriented mindset, you continuously work on optimizing and improving the inbound planning process.
 

KEY ACTIVITIES

In the role of transport coordinator Inbound, you will work from the European Control Tower in Born as part of a transport team consisting of 8 colleagues. Your responsibilities include:

ø Inbound planning and monitoring: Preparing and coordinating inbound container rail schedules with carrier, closely monitoring planned arrivals, and making immediate adjustments in case of delays or deviations.

ø Solving planning-related problems: Proactively resolving bottlenecks in the planning to ensure efficient execution of transports.

ø Contact with customers and transporters: Maintaining regular contact with customers, transporter, and internal stakeholders to ensure the progress of inbound shipments and manage expectations.

ø Process optimization: Identifying areas for improvement in the inbound planning and actively contributing to the optimization of transport processes.

ø Administrative tasks: Ensuring that all relevant information is correctly recorded in the FIS system and that transport data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
