Operational & Planning Responsibilities

Ensure that all transport planners consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and established operational guidelines.

Use transportation management software to support accurate and efficient transport planning and scheduling.

Safeguard the quality and accuracy of the overall planning process.

Monitor performance against KPIs and SLAs, follow up where needed, and drive continuous performance improvement.

Handle first-line escalations from carriers and customers, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Coördinate daily planning activities with warehouse operations, customer service teams, and transport partners.

Track shipment and inventory movements, proactively rerouting freight when necessary to meet deadlines and service requirements.

Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the planning process and report findings to management.

Analyze planning performance to uncover improvement opportunities and support process optimization efforts.
Team Leadership & Collaboration

Coach, support, and guide a team of transport planners to promote professional growth and strong team performance.

Organize regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions to maintain open communication and a positive working environment.

Contribute to HR activities such as performance evaluations, interviews, onboarding, and absence management.

Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility within the team.
Systems & Process Improvement

Support the maintenance, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Transport Management System (TMS).

Assist in developing and rolling out optimized logistics processes and planning procedures.

Maintain, review, and update essential transport-related master data to ensure system accuracy and compliance.
Job vereisten

At least 3 years of experience in transport or logistics planning roles

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Experience with solving transport-related challenges
